Highlights

  • Yarkant/Shache: Yarkant has a history of more than 3,000 years. It is afamous historical and cultural city that integrates humanisticlandscapes with natural landscapes, Central Asian culture, and WesternRegion culture.

  • Kashgar: You could say it is the most exotic place in China, withstunning Islamic architecture, and most of the film“The Kite Runner ”was shot here.

  • Palong Ancient Path: At about 4,100 meters, the Panlong Ancient Pathhovers like a huge dragon on the Pamir Plateau. The road and thecolorful mountains are perfectly combined, as are the majestic wondersof the continuous snow-capped mountains in the distance.

  • Toxkorgan: This ancient tribe, which borders three countries, hasunique folk customs. The people there are known for their simplicityand kindness. In spring, the whole village is decorated with apricotblossoms.

  • Pak-China Friendship Road: Driving on this Road, we will have abeautiful encounter with Oitak Red mountain, White Sand Lake.Standing on the plateau, you can see both Karakul Lake and the wonderof Muztagh Ata Peak.

  • Pamir Plateau: Snow-capped mountains and the placid lake rest in thenunnery quiet glen, forests, Gobi desert, and almond blossoms... arescattered in every corner of the Pamir Plateau, and you can experiencethe four seasons in one trip.

Day 1 Kashgar

Get ready for an exciting journey! Upon arrival, take a taxi to the hotel. If time permits, you may visit the Old City to explore on your own.

Day 2 Kashgar

After breakfast, we will first visit the famous Kashgar Livestock Bazaar, one of the most vibrant traditional markets in the region. Here, localfarmers and herders from surrounding villages gather to trade cattle, sheep,goats, and horses. The lively atmosphere, bargaining voices, and colorful localattire offer a fascinating glimpse into the centuries-old trading traditions of theregion.Afterward, we will come to the main gate of Kashgar Old City from here youwill be free to explore the winding alleys of the old town—browse localhandicrafts, buy souvenirs, taste traditional lamb buns, or even try on ethnicclothing.In the afternoon, we will move to the western part of the old town to watch aUyghur wedding cultural show after lunch. Later, we will visit the largestmosque in China, Id Kah Mosque, and the Kashgar Old City Ruins ExhibitionArea(Gaotai Old City).At night, the old town reveals another side of its charm. We suggest taking sometime to stroll through the beautifully lit streets before our driver picks you upafter dinner.

Day 3 Kashgar - Yarkant 2 hrs driving - Kashgar 2 hrs driving

After breakfast, we will drive to Yarkant, an ancient oasis city with a history of over 3,000 years. Historically, it was one of the most importantkingdoms along the Silk Road, connecting Central Asia, South Asia, and China.Upon arrival, we will first visit the Amanishakhan Mausoleum, dedicated toAmanishakhan, a renowned poet and musician who played a key role incollecting and organizing the Uyghur Muqam.In the afternoon, we will stroll along Yarkant Old Street, where traditionalUyghur houses, local workshops, and handicraft shops line the narrow alleys,offering a vivid glimpse of everyday life in this historic oasis town. We will alsostop at a traditional Uyghur teahouse to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea, a perfectopportunity to experience the local lifestyle and culture.Later, we will enjoy a live performance of Uyghur Muqam. This rich musicaltradition combines poetry, storytelling, music, and dance, and is regarded as oneof the most important cultural treasures of the Uyghur people. The performanceoffers a fascinating introduction to the depth and beauty of Uyghur culturalheritage.After the visit, we will return to the hotel in Kashgar

Day 4 Kashgar - Whitesand Lake 3hrs driving- Karakul Lake 1hr driving - Tashkorgan 1hr driving

After breakfast, we will head directly to Tashkorgan along the famous Karakoram Highway. Along the way, we will pass two stunning alpine lakes:White Sand Lake and Karakul Lake.In the afternoon, we will arrive at Karakul Lake, located at the foot of themajestic Muztagh Ata, often called the “Father of Ice Mountains.” The lake'scrystal-clear waters reflect the snow-capped peaks, creating one of the mostbreathtaking landscapes in the Pamir region.Upon arriving in Tashkorgan, we will visit the historic Tashkorgan Stone City,an ancient fortress site that once served as an important stronghold along theSilk Road.For dinner, we highly recommend trying local yak meat, a regional specialtyknown for its rich flavor and a must-taste experience on the Pamir Plateau.

Day 5 Tashkorgan- the Palong Ancient Path 3hrs driving - Tajik village 1hr driving - Tashkorgan

After breakfast, we will drive along the Palong Ancient Path, a historic mountain route famous for its dramatic curves and stunning highland scenery. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. Next, we will stop at Bandier Blue Lake, a serene alpine lake known for its clear turquoise waters and the reflection of snow-capped mountains. This is a perfect spot for photos and to appreciate the natural beauty of the Pamir Plateau. In the afternoon, we will visit Tajik Village, a traditional settlement where local Tajik families bring their livestock to graze during the summer months. Here, we can experience the pastoral lifestyle of the region.We will also have the opportunity for a Tajik family visit, where you can learn about local customs, daily life, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Tajik people.

Day 6 Tashkorgan – Tashkuman Wetland – Muztagh Ata Glacier Park – Kashgar 6hrs driving

After breakfast, we will depart from Tashkorgan and drive to the Tashkuman Wetland, a peaceful alpine wetland surrounded by snow-cappedmountains and vast grasslands. Here, you can enjoy the tranquil scenery, spotlocal wildlife, and observe the daily life of nearby Tajik herders.Next, we will visit Muztagh Ata Glacier Park, located at the foot of the majesticMuztagh Ata (“Father of Ice Mountains”). The park offers easy access to aspectacular glacier landscape, where you can admire the towering ice peaks,pristine snowfields, and the rugged beauty of the Pamir Mountains.In the afternoon, we will drive back to Kashgar, completing the journey across the stunning landscapes of Xinjiang.
